About Club El Rincón de Cajicá
El Club el Rincón fue fundado en 1958 por un grupo de ocho amigos que deseaban unirse para compartir su pasión por el golf.
Con esto en mente, no querían hacer el Club en cualquier sitio y fue así como se dedicaron a recorrer toda la sabana de Bogotá en busca del mejor sitio para una cancha de golf. Uno de esos días, los llamó un amigo y futuro socio, Octavio Restrepo, y les informó sobre un terreno de 55 fanegadas ubicado en Cajicá, que iba a ser rematado. Lo revisaron y era definitivamente lo que estaban buscando. Tras conseguir el dinero necesario y después de vencer increíbles obstáculos, lo adquirieron; el valor cancelado fue de $2.700 pesos por fanegada. Este terreno incluía una casa que posteriormente fue arreglada bajo la supervisión de Camilo Samper, con el objeto de que funcionara como sede.
Para el diseño del campo averiguaron quién era el mejor diseñador del mundo y fue así como contactaron al inglés Robert Trent Jones, quien cobró US$ 26.000. Ahora el campo ha sido considerado como uno de los mejores cincuenta del mundo. El constructor fue el argentino, experto en estas lides, Alberto Serra. El campo se inauguró en 1963 con cortada de cinta y una gran celebración.
En 1980, a raíz de un fuerte invierno, se inundó el campo de golf. Gracias al esfuerzo de varios socios, se logró arreglar antes de celebrar la Copa Mundo, ese mismo año. Este evento fue definitivamente un hito en la historia del Club, no sólo por su importancia a nivel mundial sino porque contó con golfistas de varios países. Club El Rincón de Cajicá was founded in 1958 by a group of eight friends who wanted to come together to share their passion for golf.
With this in mind, the club did not want to do anywhere and that was how they set out to travel around the savannah of Bogota in search of the best place for a golf course. One of those days, called a friend and future partner, Octavio Restrepo, and informed them on an area of 55 bushels located in Cajicá, which would be topped.
